Insights from the Field: Partnering with Arts Ottawa
Who we are
Grant Solutions Canada partners with mission-driven organizations to build funding strategies that hold up over time, not just single applications. Our work spans grant readiness assessments, 12-month grant calendars, risk and competitiveness reviews, and the core materials (mission, mandate, KPIs, case studies) that make an organization's story easy to tell well, application after application. We're brought in when an organization needs a strategic partner who can see the whole funding picture.

The work we did for Arts Ottawa
Arts Ottawa came to us this summer facing a familiar challenge for arts service organizations: too much reliance on one funder, and a compelling story about their impact that wasn't yet built for the audiences who needed to hear it: funders, the City, and the broader sector.
Since onboarding, we've built out a 90-day roadmap covering a $1M+ grant pipeline, a full gap analysis against Arts Ottawa's current grant readiness, and a revenue diversification strategy designed to reduce their dependence on municipal funding. We developed a case-study narrative approach and companion diagram to help volunteer grant juries, who don't always come from an arts background, immediately grasp how Arts Ottawa's work moves from artist to community to civic impact.
Underneath it all, we set up a streamlined document review system: a simple red/yellow "stoplight" legend that flags what's missing versus what's speculative, so drafts move faster and with fewer last-minute surprises.

What Arts Ottawa is saying
"The way Grant Solutions Canada approaches gathering information, structuring the work, and managing the process — it's exactly how we like to work. Having a partner who thinks this way has been a dream come true."
